    If I were you I would watch this tape. My impression is that this would have gone a lot easier if you were just aiming 8 inches higher over the net. (Almost all your errors were in the net or just wide. You almost never missed long). Anyway I’m just a 4.5 but I think if you watch it you might agree. Also your win rate on drop shots was pretty low.

    @gnohymmij Годину тому

    I'm not qualified to say, and you probably already noticed it when you rewatched but when you let go of that second hand on your backhand (for a slice or drop shot), you usually lost the point. Keep up the great work. Go Bruins!

    It always hurts my heart to see a young, talented LEFT-HANDED player like Tien not appear to have developed a wide slice serve on the Ad side. Imagine if he had a left-handed version of Karue's slice serve?

    Great match so far, I just watched the first set, super close and tense, really it was for anyone. About Learner, he's a great player ofc, but I’ve noticed something, he doesn’t go forwards naturally, when he gets short or floating balls he doesn’t have the instinct to run forwards and charge the net.

    You getting to that move forward ball and attacking was so effective. Your first volleys (on the points I saw, I was skipping around, especially toward the end) were won points nearly every time. Taking the ball so early like you do allows there to be less ground to cover when attacking. Oh, and your backhand, just wow: flat, through court, taken early...butter.

    Your match reminded me of my own one earlier today. Everything you tried just didn't work. The intensity of your footwork was off and combined with his lefty game, it increased your unforced errors. It didn't help that when he needed to make a big shot, he hit it every time.

    Really wish you had used your backhand to attack his forehand more. Your flat backhand to his loopy forehand would’ve gotten you some short balls. The forehand backhand rallies weren’t getting you anywhere later in the match, he was too solid on that side. Either way, your forehand is a great shot now, just think the backhand could’ve come into play more.

    Interesting chess match with the lefty keeping you on that forehand side and daring you to go down the line. Didn’t take him long to figure out you would rip the backhand cross court when it was there. Incredible patience from such a young player.

    I watched this some weeks ago and I've been playing a lot of tennis. I had the first few matches very frustrating and couldn't serve and return on my level. Then this video popped into my head in the middle of a match, "Just have fun! That's why you do this.". Next point I put on a smile while I was returning and tried to look forward to the return with joy. I started returning better and my first-serve percentage went way higher. I haven't lost since. So thank you man!
